H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, emphasized the vital role of media and digital creators in shaping humanitarian narratives. He highlighted that producing meaningful content about humanitarian efforts is both an institutional and societal duty.

The UAE’s leadership strongly supports young Arab talent by providing them with advanced tools and training in storytelling, particularly in the context of humanitarian and development work. Sheikh Theyab stressed that showcasing humanitarian initiatives strengthens community solidarity and positively impacts millions globally. He also noted that the UAE continues to implement significant humanitarian programs that reinforce its position as a global leader in philanthropy.

His comments came during the launch of the Impact Makers initiative, a collaboration between the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council and the New Media Academy.

Building Stronger Humanitarian Content

The initiative offers educational programs and specialized workshops focused on digital media content creation for humanitarian and development topics. Sheikh Theyab emphasized the need to empower individuals to produce compelling and influential stories that address humanitarian concerns and raise public awareness through effective media strategies.

These efforts are particularly important for initiatives that aim to improve essential services such as healthcare and education, which are key to fostering prosperity, stability, and security.

Training and Target Audience

The program is designed for journalists, camera crews, and content creators from the UAE, the Arab world, and beyond who specialize in humanitarian and development reporting. It seeks to enhance their ability to craft engaging stories, develop media content, and produce audiovisual materials for various digital platforms.

Additionally, the initiative includes training for official spokespersons representing UAE-based humanitarian organizations and charitable associations. These sessions focus on strategies for managing corporate reputation and responding effectively to media crises.

The New Media Academy continues to support content creators and social media influencers, equipping them with the skills needed to communicate professionally and contribute to social progress.

Modules within the Impact Makers Initiative

The program includes several training modules, such as:

  • Spokesperson Skills, Media Appearance, and Crisis Management in the Media – designed to improve public speaking, media presence, and crisis communication.
  • Humanitarian Impact Journalism – focused on storytelling techniques for journalists covering humanitarian issues.
  • Humanitarian Impact Content Creators – aimed at digital media professionals, with one version developed in partnership with the Arab Youth Centre.

Through these initiatives, Impact Makers seeks to elevate the visibility of humanitarian work and ensure that compelling stories reach wider audiences, fostering greater engagement and support for global humanitarian efforts.
