Abdourahamane Diallo’s Extensive Experience
Mr. Diallo arrives at this position with over two decades of robust experience in development. Before assuming his role in Congo, he served in various capacities with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Notably, he was the representative of UNESCO to Nigeria, where he significantly impacted education, sciences, culture, and communication initiatives.
A Background in Regional Leadership
His prior roles include heading the UNESCO offices in Brazzaville, Kinshasa, and Accra. Mr. Diallo commenced his journey in UNESCO at the Paris headquarters, representing Niger’s permanent delegation. His expertise particularly stood out during his tenure as a programme specialist, where he focused on fostering cooperation with the African Union and addressing challenges faced by countries in post-conflict situations.
Mr. Diallo holds an industrial computer engineering degree from the Hautes Etudes Industrielles in Lille, France, and a Master of Business Administration in international business engineering from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion in Paris, equipping him with the skills necessary for effective leadership and collaboration in his new role.
